- Helped introduce technology into the public education system

Born: July 16, 1951

- Bricklin received his B.S. in electrical engineering/computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- He received his MBA from Harvard University in 1979
- In 2003, Bricklin was given the Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award for being a technology change leader
Contributions to Computer Science:
- In 1979, Bricklin Software Arts, and began selling VisiCalc, the first spreadsheet program available for personal computers.
- He developed a program for prototyping and simulating other pieces of software called "Dan Bricklin's Demo Program"
- Dan founded a software development company called Slate Corporations which paved the way for M icrosofts Office program

- Created the Turing machine, making many consider him to be the father of computer science
- Cracked the German ENIGMA code during WW2
- Made the first steps towards AI, stating the conecpt that brains just conduct algorithmic equations to think
